Seasonal Orchard Workers in VIC - LAUNCHING PLACE -

Seasonal Orchard Workers
Up to six seasonal, hard working, physically able and reliable orchard workers required for 2 orchards in Launching Place, Victoria. The work is outside work and will require manually planting apple trees, construction of orchard supports and irrigation system, thinning and picking apples and attending to general orchard maintenance. Work will involve the use of A frame ladders and picking into canvas bags (approx 15kgs when full) strapped to shoulders. This will involve stepping up and down and shifting the ladder to different locations as needed. The positions are outdoor work, and work is undertaken in a range of weather conditions including rain. Up to six months of work expected to commence in October. No previous experience is necessary. Candidates must be motivated and be able to learn quickly. Successful candidates must be available for 6am starts to work in a range of weather conditions, use pruning and picking equipment, work in a team with others, and have the ability to work quickly and with accuracy. Workers must have own transport and be available up to 7 days per week. Piece rate will apply to all harvest work. Successful candidates would be offered employment on a casual basis under the 2009 Vernview Field Employee Collective Agreement.

There are two shifts available day and afternoon shifts. Monday to Sunday work. Hourly rate of pay day shift $20.46, afternoon shift $24.46. Day shift hours 6.00am - 2.00pm. Afternoon shift 2.00pm to 10.00pm. You must have own transport and license due to location and starting and finishing times.
